1 Day Trek to Korigad Fort, Lonavala

We @ InnovativeKidzArt have arranged a 1 Day Trek to Korigad Fort, Lonavala on 8th September 2018, Saturday

Height: 3,028 feet approx
Region: Lonavala
Base Village: Peth Shahapur
Grade: Easy

Captured by Chatrapati Shivaji in 1657, Korigad fort went to the British after a prolonged siege in 1818. Several ruins of old structures within the fort still exist, and it walls is still completely intact.

We start our walk through a jungle and trek up to the fort with a view of Amby Valley below. Atop we get to see:
1. Two lakes on the fort
2. Goddess Korai Devi temple
3. Several smaller temples to dedicated to Vishnu and Shiva
4. Six cannons – the largest of which is called the Laxmi Toph
5. View of Amby Valley

Trek Schedule :-
The journey starts with the Indrayani express. Participants registered should catch this train from respective stations. (Plz get to your respected stations at least 15 mins earlier).

Train Timings :- Indrayani Express
CST – 5:40 am
Dadar – 5.51 am
Thane – 6.14 am
Kalyan – 6.35 am
Lonavla – 8.00 am

Pune participants :- Catch Pune Lonavala Local Train … Timings are as below:
Pune Station: 06:27 Hrs
Shivaji Nagar : 06:33 Hrs
Lonavala Station: 07:50 Hrs

Assemble & Breakfast/Tea Time @ lonavala Station
Proceed to Base Village 'Peth Shahapur' by Ricks / Jeeps
From base village Start trekking to the Korigadh
Reach at Top in approx. 1 hours
Exploration, Lunch, rest etc (2 hrs approx)
Start descending back to Pethwadi. Will get back in village at 1:00 PM
Back to Karjat/Lonavala by local transport
Reach Mumbai by Deccan Express

Trek Concludes with Treasure Of Happy memories. :)

Charges for this trek are Rs 1000/- per head, which includes Transport, Morning & Evening breakfast and Lunch

Here is a list of all the things that every participant need to carry for the trek:
1. A haversack to put in all the things to be carried. So that one has hands free while trekking
2. Water bottle (3 Ltrs)
3. Some Dry Snacks like cake, biscuits, etc
4. Camera (Optional), Avoid wearing Gold and other jewelry (at own risk)
5. Electoral / Enerzyl powder or any Juice
6. Personal medicines
7. Good trekking shoes, raincoats/jackets (no umbrellas), cap (Avoid Chapels / Slippers)
